Le futur simple

There are two future tenses in French :
  • Le futur proche (to talk about something which is going to happen in a near future)
  • Le futur simple (to talk about something which will happen sometime in the future)

The indicative future is much more regular than the indicative present. ENDINGS are same for all verbs :

The future STEM of most verbs is regular (including verbs which stem in the present tense is irregular) :

Verbes en -ER

Radical du futur = infinitif

Ex : parler je parlerai

Verbes en -IR

Radical du futur = infinitif

Ex : finir je finirai

Verbes en -RE

Radical du futur = infinitif – « e »

Ex : prendre je prendrai

The stem of the following verbs is irregular, but is identical for all personal pronouns :
