L’hymne national (The national anthem)

The national anthem of France is called “La Marseillaise“. It is martial patriotic songs written and composed in 1792, three years after the Revolution, at a time when France was being attacked by the Prussian troops. Those were defeated during the famous Battle of Valmy. After that, the French armies started spreading the values of the Revolution all over Europe. “La Marseillaise” was declared national anthem in 1795.
